Lucy Wangari, known as the Onion Doctor, is a young farmer in Kenya. During the GFN Africa Agripreneur Accelerator program Lucy connected with Sibusiso from Eswatini to work on a cross-border onion farming project that would see the exchange of knowledge on commercial onion farming which will expand OnionDoctor’s services to Eswatini.
Lucy is also working with Dave Okech, (Kenya) on fundraising and agritech growth.She is learning from him about fundraising strategies for agribusiness, understanding business valuation and investor readiness. As part of this collaboration, she is connecting with investor pools supporting agritech in Africa.
These collaborations will see:
- Increased revenue through expansion into Eswatini.
- Improved onion farming techniques through cross-border collaboration.
- Training on fundraising and access to potential investors.
- Development of an IoT platform to automate and scale operations.
