Zainab Lawal Gwadabe

Dr. Zainab Lawal Gwadabe is a second generation farmer from Kano, Nigeria, who leads the Seed Project Company Limited, a seed breeding and production company. It operates on 200 hectares internally with over 500 hectares total and collaborates with over 45,000 farmers for training and capacity building. Zainab’s dedication to integrating women into agriculture is evident through the Seed Project Women Outgrower Program, which successfully piloted with 500 women producing biofortified maize. The company focuses on a diverse range of biofortified, arable crop seeds, including rice, maize, sorghum, cowpea, millet, groundnut, watermelon, tomato, okra, pepper, and also engages in poultry farming with a capacity of 25,000 birds.
