Ing. ŠtČpán ýížek, Ph.D. I have been working in agriculture since 2003 in various positions. I currently work as an executive of AGD Kaþice, s.r.o., which is part of the Agrofert, a.s. concern. We manage 3,000 ha of agricultural land. We raise 400 Holstein cows with a milk yield of 31 l per stalled dairy cow/day, the average milk yield per cow is 35 l/head/day. In crop production, we grow winter rape, winter wheat, winter barley, malting barley, corn for silage, alfalfa, red clover, peas, poppies and grasses. We work in a precision farming mode using reduced tillage, precise navigation in RTK mode and we apply variable fertilizer applications across the area. We use relative yield potential maps to determine the heterogeneity of the plot and divide the plots into one to three zones according to the achieved yield level. This year we are trying variable sowing of corn for the first time. We are members of the Czech Agricultural Union.
