About
Sarah Singla is a French agronomist and farmer renowned for her advocacy of soil conservation agriculture in France and around the world. Born in the Aveyron region, she took over her family's farm in 2010, which has been practicing soil conservation techniques since 1980. She grows different kind of cereals, pulses, various cover-crops and cash crop with living perennial crops. The farm has also meadows with mob grazing techniques and agroforestry. Beyond farming, Sarah co-founded the association Clé de Sol in 2012, aiming to promote direct seeding under plant amongst French farmers. She also contributes to various documentaries and conferences, sharing her expertise on soil conservation practices. Sarah was Nuffield scholar in 2011 traveling the world to enhance her knowledge about soil fertility, no-till systems and holistic approach to agriculture. She was the co-producer of the documentary-film Bienvenue les vers de terre in 2019. It features interviews with practitioners and experts in the field, discussing topics such as biodiversity, soil erosion, water management and production. The documentary aims to shed light on the challenges and solutions related to sustainable farming, emphasizing the importance of soil regeneration. Sarah is passionate and enthusiastic about her pursuits. She is an inspirational voice for agriculture, she shares with passion her vision on soil restoration agriculture in France and abroad. Honored as "International No-Till Legend" in December 2024, she was recognized for her significant contribution to developing, promoting and spreading the word about the many benefits of no-tillage and conservation agriculture internationally.
