Ross Korves was raised on a southern Illinois hog farm and educated at Southern Illinois University. He served as senior economist for the American Farm Bureau Federation before becoming trade and economic policy analyst for Truth About Trade & Technology, the organization renamed the Global Farmer Network in January 2016.
From 2004 to 2015 he wrote a weekly column on World Trade Organization negotiations, market access and trade barriers, regional trade agreements, and the economics of agricultural biotechnology.
