Roberto Peiretti

Roberto Peiretti is a fourth-generation farmer from central Argentina, where the fifth generation is already engaged in the family farm. The operation grows corn, soybeans, wheat, pulses, peas, barley, oats, sorghum, and sunflowers on 8,000 hectares in the Central Argentine Pampas and in Uruguay. Each year, 25% to 35% of the farm is double-cropped. Roberto has farmed under no-till principles for 45 years and is a strong user of cover crops, service crops, and modern agricultural technologies.

He graduated as an agronomist in Cordoba National University of Argentina. When he finished his studies, he was distinguished by Cordoba National University with The Gold Medal Award to the Best Academic Performance. Also, lately during 2018 he was granted with Honorary Doctorate Degree because of his outstanding professional performance. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Science with major in Agronomy, granted by Oklahoma State University, USA. When he graduated at Oklahoma State University he was distinguished with a Diploma and recognition for the Best Academic Performance as an “Straight A Student” Certificate. During 2025 he was incorporated as member of the Argentina National Academy of Agronomy and Veterinary Sciences www.anav.org.ar .

Roberto is a leader in the development, use and outreach of the No-Till agriculture systems, regionally, nationally and internationally. Throughout his career he was invited to participate of different international events to interact, deliver speeches and presentations, etc. in more than 80 opportunities to more than 40 countries around the globe.

Roberto Peiretti volunteers as a board member for the Global Farmer Network and was a founding member of AAPRESID (Argentinian No Till Farmers Association) and CAAPAS (American Confederation of No Till Farmers Associations). Roberto was one of twenty-seven farmers that founded Bioceres, an agriculture-related biotechnology company. He is actively engaged in the World Association of Soils and Water Conservation (WASWAC) and was recognized as the WASWAC Distinguished Extensions Award in 2016.
