Marcelo Torres

Marcelo Torres is an Agricultural Engineer based in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and serves as President of Aapresid (the Argentine No-Till Farmers Association), where he previously served as Vice President. He has also led CeresTolvas as Director since 1998. As President of Aapresid, Marcelo champions sustainable agricultural production with low environmental impact — capturing value in sustainable practices, working from producers toward consumers, and measuring and reducing carbon footprints. He emphasizes that Argentina and Aapresid are global leaders in adopting science- and technology-supported no-till farming systems, positioning these methods as solutions for meeting growing demand while mitigating climate change. Marcelo serves on the Global Farmer Network Advisory Council.
