Jose Luis Perez is a third generation Mexican farmer and biotechnology engineer who blends science with production of corn, sorghum and okra. On his family’s farms, he uses drones for orthophoto mapping, GPS auto‑steer, sensors and data tools to turn field observations into precise decisions, while improving soils with organic matter and biologicals. Beyond production, Jose Luis is a prolific communicator who engages young people and rural communities, demonstrating how evidence‑based agriculture can be both innovative and practical. Over the next 3–5 years he aims to scale precision practices across the operation and inspire more youth to see farming as a purpose‑driven career.
