About
Gina is a fifth-generation dairy farmer managing her family's farm alongside her veterinarian father and agronomist brother. Together they manage 500 cows, plus 380 calves and heifers, as well as 40 hectares in crop rotation, producing corn, triticale, barley and sorghum for silage. In recent years they also planted vegetables, such as broccoli, green beans, and cauliflower. With degrees in business administration, marketing, and a Master's in corporate law, Gina has worked full time on the farm since she graduated in 2008. She joined the Global Farmer Network in 2016, receiving the Kleckner Global Farm Leader Award in 2018. Since 2022, she has served as GFN's Director of Community Engagement, leading communication and leadership training for new members. In 2020, she was appointed as a "Dairy Ambassador" by the Global Dairy Platform, representing the dairy sector in global forums. Gina is also a contributing writer for several Mexican livestock magazines. As an active advocate on social media, through her "La Vida Lactea" Facebook page with over 71,000 followers, Gina champions the sustainability of dairy farming and the consumption of dairy products as part of a balanced diet.
