About
Christopher Nickelsen is a fourth generation agronomist leading a 5,000 acre diversified operation in southern Chile, producing apples for export (Europe, U.S., and expanding to China) alongside cereals (wheat, rapeseed, oats, barley), red clover seed; summer crops (potatoes, onions, chicory roots), pea seed. The farm integrates forestry and hosts a 72‑turbine wind park—one of the largest on a single farm—while championing soil health by incorporating straw and regenerative ag. Christopher embraces technology: drone spraying, GPS guidance, optical weed control, and trials of autonomous sprayers, all contributing to steady yield gains. Over the next 3–5 years, he aims to stabilize growth, add new crops, and incorporate processing for the sweet corn crop.
