Bill Couser

Bill Couser is a fifth-generation farmer from central Iowa, where his family operation includes corn, soybeans, barley, winter rye, and seed corn crops, cattle feeding, beekeeping, and ethanol production. His sons are now taking on management of the row-crop operation, while Bill continues to support the business and mentor the next generation. The Couser operation has included a 5,200-head cattle feedyard, along with research and development projects with John Deere, Iowa State University, and others focused on livestock, crop production, and environmental stewardship.

Bill and his wife, Nancy, have been recognized with honors including the National Cattlemen’s Environmental Stewardship Award, induction into the Cattlemen Hall of Fame and the 4-H Hall of Fame, and the Global Farmer Network Kleckner Award. Bill volunteers as a board member for the Global Farmer Network and serves as chair of the Global Farmer Network Development Committee.

Through Global Farmer Network, he is committed to mentoring young people, supporting farmers around the world, and helping strengthen farmer engagement in agricultural policy. He and Nancy also host “Party in the Pasture,” a global networking event that brings farmers and guests together in Iowa. He serves as a board member for the Global Farmer Network and is the Development Committee Chair.
